Callum: 6 years on from when I first met Suus, I decided it was time to finally ask my best friend to marry me.
I knew I wanted to ask Suus while returning home to New Zealand in September 25′ and I knew I wanted to keep it a secret. The issue was that I had no idea where to start with finding a ring, let alone keeping it secret and that’s where Wayne came in.
After asking Suus’ parents for permission, it hit me that I had 3 weeks to find and buy the perfect ring before we made the 18,000km journey back home. While we both live in the Netherlands, I travel to Dublin for work most weeks, which provided the perfect alibi to go ring shopping.
After doing some digging, I came across Wayne and the DDF and gave him the brief. He told me that while it was not a whole lot of time, that it was not an impossible job to turn around and that he did!
He immediately made the time to take me through options and ended up turning the ring around in 2 weeks. While I didn’t have anyone else to bring with me on the day, Wayne took the time to give me honest advice and ultimately helped me decide on the perfect ring.
A month later, I took Suus to the secluded Karekare beach on the west coast of New Zealand and we had the most perfect day. She said yes and I was at long last able to ptell her the stories of how I made it happen.
I gave Wayne an incredibly short timeline and minimal direction to work with, and he made it happen. We’re both super grateful to him for helping me bring it all together.
Suus: Callum totally surprised me in the most perfect way possible. He picked the most amazing ring and knew what I wanted even before I knew what that was! I just can’t stop staring at it, it is so beautiful and sparkly and more than I what I ever could have ever wished for. Thank you so much Wayne for doing the most amazing job!
